Slag Processing

IEM FörderTechnik provides solutions for slag processing. The slag from thermal recovery plants is crushed if necessary, screened into different fractions, and the ferrous and non-ferrous metals are separated.

Slag often contains valuable metals such as iron, copper, aluminum, and zinc. Through processing, these metals can be recovered and reintroduced into the production process, reducing the need for primary raw materials and lowering procurement costs. Untreated slag often has to be disposed of at high cost in landfills. Processing and recycling slag significantly reduces disposal costs. Processing enables environmentally friendly treatment and disposal of slag. The waste slag from thermal recovery plants is crushed if necessary, screened into different fractions, and the ferrous and non-ferrous metals are separated. IEM offers technical know-how and customized solutions for this purpose.
