Waste Incineration Plants
Thermal waste treatment is now an essential component of a sustainable waste management concept, and customized conveying systems are crucial for the operation of waste incineration plants (MVA) and waste-to-energy plants (WtE). Our solutions for thermal waste treatment and the sustainable utilization of residual materials offer reliable and efficient support. Our conveying technology ensures the economical transport of ash and slag, both dry and wet, through precise ash removal systems and slag processing plants. Pneumatic conveying systems and robust ash silos enable efficient handling of fly ash and other residual materials. In refuse-derived fuel power plants (RDF/EBS) and other thermal treatment plants, our customized conveying systems contribute to the sustainable treatment and utilization of residual materials. Our experience and expertise in the development of conveying technology, specifically for waste incineration plants, ensure the highest efficiency and longevity.
Nuclear Technology and Decommissioning
Disposal is essential for the safe operation of nuclear power plants. Appropriate conveyor technology solutions, which reliably prevents the contamination of your workplace with radioactive waste, are required for the correct transport and disposal route. IEM builds drum transfer systems for low-level radioactive waste, handles drum compaction, drum filling and weight monitoring.
Fossil-Fueled Power Plants
IEM FörderTechnik has been successfully working with coal-fired power plants for many years. Our task is to design conveying systems that, despite their complexity and the specific requirements of the power plants, operate in a clean, safe, and productive manner. Our solution for your needs!

Wastewater Treatment Plants
Reliable, robust, and economical: Mechanical transport of sewage sludge must cope with highly variable solid contents and consistencies of the conveyed material: dry or wet, sticky, fine or coarse-grained, or strong-smelling. Sewage treatment plants rely on the efficient and reliable transport of sewage sludge to ensure optimal wastewater treatment. Our conveying technology offers customized solutions for sewage sludge treatment that meet the specific requirements of each sewage treatment plant. We understand these challenges and solve your transport problem.
Sewage Sludge Incineration
IEM FörderTechnik GmbH has the right solution for your needs: whether wet sludge, partially or fully dried sewage sludge is to be thermally utilized. We are your experts when it comes to trough chain and screw conveyors. Sewage sludge incineration plants are crucial for energy production from sewage sludge and contribute to resource conservation. Our mechanical and pneumatic conveying technology ensures efficient and reliable sewage sludge handling, meeting the thermal requirements of each sewage sludge incineration plant. The entire incineration process is optimized by our robust systems to achieve maximum efficiency. After incineration, the resulting ash is cooled by cooling screws to ensure safe and environmentally friendly further processing and storage.
Waste Treatment
The range of services offered by IEM FörderTechnik includes the area of waste processing. Starting from shredding to screening and the separation of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and light materials. The abrasive materials require wear-protected conveying technology, and we support you in this area as well. Our systems have been in use worldwide for decades.
Slag Processing
IEM FörderTechnik provides solutions for slag processing. The slag from thermal recovery plants is crushed if necessary, screened into different fractions, and the ferrous and non-ferrous metals are separated.
Slag often contains valuable metals such as iron, copper, aluminum, and zinc. Through processing, these metals can be recovered and reintroduced into the production process, reducing the need for primary raw materials and lowering procurement costs. Untreated slag often has to be disposed of at high cost in landfills. Processing and recycling slag significantly reduces disposal costs. Processing enables environmentally friendly treatment and disposal of slag. The waste slag from thermal recovery plants is crushed if necessary, screened into different fractions, and the ferrous and non-ferrous metals are separated. IEM offers technical know-how and customized solutions for this purpose.

Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metallurgy: Efficient Conveying Technology for Maximum Productivity
In ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, the reliable transportation of mineral raw materials and the production of metallic and non-metallic end products play a central role. Our customized solutions offer you higher productivity thanks to efficient conveying technology such as conveyor belts, conveyor chains, screw conveyors, and bucket elevators. Low-maintenance and durable systems reduce your operating costs and ensure cost efficiency. Our technology is designed for long-term use, increasing reliability and robustness while minimizing downtime. Benefit from efficient handling through optimized storage and loading and unloading of fossil fuels, pellets, and briquettes, as well as reliable technology through robust and low-maintenance systems for long-term use.
The application areas include steel mills and copper smelters, where we provide conveying technology for the supply, storage, and preparation of alloying materials. In alloy plants, we offer transport and cooling systems for the delivery, conveying, cooling, storage, and dosing of aluminum, steel, fly ash, and dust. For foundries, we offer technologies for the recovery of foundry sands, metallic materials, castings, and waste materials. For coking plants, we supply conveying technology for firing melting furnaces, such as chain conveyors, bucket elevators, and screw conveyors for transporting coke and coal. For pellet presses, we handle storage, cooling, and transport with particularly heat-resistant conveying technology for the horizontal and vertical transport of pellets and iron briquettes, including silos, silo discharge systems, bunkers, and trough chain conveyors.
Chemistry
We develop sustainable and optimized solutions for requirements in the chemical application area. This includes, for example, the conveyed material urea granulate. Our experience ranges from conveyor belts in salt transport to conveyor systems in fertilizer production (e.g., using bucket elevators).
MECMercury Emission Control
The reduction of pollutants, especially mercury, in industrial exhaust gases is currently a globally dominant topic and presents new challenges for operators. Worldwide, mercury limits must be adhered to, and these were significantly tightened in Europe in 2019. Many operators of combustion plants are forced to take action.
IEM FörderTechnik GmbH has been involved in the planning and construction of plants for energy production for decades and has also specialized in the field of mercury emission control. It is a specialist in the reduction of mercury in flue gas.
IEM FörderTechnik GmbH offers customized solutions and precisely tailored systems to ensure that your plant can continue to operate in compliance with regulations, environmentally friendly, effectively, and future-proof. Our specialists provide comprehensive advice and support in all project steps, from basic planning to the implementation of the new cleaning system.
