MECMercuryEmissionControl

The Mercury Emission Control department focuses on issues related to the measurement of Hg as well as technologies for Hg reduction in flue gas developed specifically for your process.
We will gladly support you with our expertise from the evaluation of the actual state to demo tests with our mobile test facility at your plant to the realization of a large-scale turnkey plant.

You can also find interesting information about our projects on our blog →.

Consulting

  • Site specific expertise

Hg measurement

We visit you:

  • Mobile equipment for Hg measurements on site
  • Self-sampling after instruction at your site
We measure:

  • Solids (e.g., ash, coal, sludge, gypsum, refuse derived fuels)
  • Liquids (e.g. waste water, washing solutions, suspensions)
Our quick service:

  • Measurement results available within 24 h
  • No need to wait for external laboratory services
  • Hg species or Hg measurement in the flue gas by sorbent trap technique (according to US reference method M30B).
  • More parameters in approval by external partners or in cooperation with your own laboratory

Tests

Mobile Versuchsanlage zur Quecksilberredukiton MEC

In our laboratory:

  • Test stand for Hg adsorption capacity
  • Efficiency comparison of precipitants with your wash solution/suspension
  • Flexible test configurations possible according to your problem
  • Cooperation with external university laboratories possible
At your plant:

  • Mobile pilot plant for the test implementation of the activated carbon entrained flow process (AK dosing capacity 25 -3000 kg/h)
  • Dosing equipment for the injection of halides for firing
  • Dosing equipment for injection of liquids / suspensions into the flue gas
  • Dosing station of sulfidic precipitants into the flue gas scrubbing process
Installation of bypass plants (endurance tests)
Scientific monitoring:

  • Elaboration of test programs
  • Preparation, execution and evaluation of dosing tests
  • Up-scaling to your plant

Process engineering

  • Complex technology evaluation
  • Determination of safety requirements
  • Development of logistics concepts
Activated carbon entrained-flow-process:

  • Adaptation and configuration of the metering technology to your fuel and exhaust gas situation
  • Selection of suitable sorbents
  • Evaluation of all effects on follow-up processes
  • Process engineering configuration of the Hg reduction system
